Happy Birthday Sweet'em

Happy Birthday to Me!  Happy Birthday to Me!
Today is the official birthday of my oldest granddaughter and this morning it was birthday gifts galore.  I didn't think I'd get my posting done while visiting up here, but they all went off to church so it's so....quiet.
Left Brain is such a party animal.

It's hard to believe that it's been 10 years already.  My daughter pointed out to her this morning.."just think, Bubbe is 50 years older than you are".  Thanks a lot...where did I put my walker again?
We're having a great weekend watching the antics of the kids and this whole goofy family.  Last night we watched old videos from when they were toddlers - that brought back some memories...and realization.  In my mind my weight problem only started recently, but now I see that nope...I was fat 10 years ago too.

Chin talent show contestant number one
We had supper last night at Dave & Busters, a super-sized, louder version of Chuck E Cheese.  I had fears of the menu this early into my new endeavor, but it was for naught. They had three selections under 600 calories, so Left Brain and I both got one and shared.  Mine was seasoned shrimp (3 skewers) on spicy rice with steamed broccoli and carrots - very good.  He had steak on skewers with the same sides that were extremely yummy.  It's amazing what good spices can do to zap up those few calories.  Once back in the relatively quieter confines of home we each had a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich (150 calories) for dessert.  They are so filling and creamy - a great treat for not a lot of calories.  Wait a minute, I feel like I just did a Festival Food ad there.
Mamma Chin
The birthday girl and her sister entertained us with a song from the Chin family singing "chin, chinnery, chin chinnery, chin chin cherroooo".  As you can see she gets her great chin talent from her mother.  Such a family! I didn't want to enter the competition - it just wouldn't be fair, I have so much more to work with.
It's hard to believe I belong to this family.  Well...maybe it's not such a stretch after all.
This is my youngest granddaughter in the family tree, going out on a limb!
