What's for Supper Wednesday

We had a cold snap lately with some thundershowers and the temperatures dipped down into the high 60's and low 70's, so what's a girl to do?

It was time to make a pot of chili to keep us warm during these cold Florida evenings.

My chili is nothing special or imaginative, but we like it so I will share it here:
My favorite chili

One pound very lean ground beef (or mix of turkey & beef)  browned

Chopped onion – as much as desired, we like lots and lots

Chopped celery – usually a couple of stalks

One can chili beans or red chili beans

One package of chili seasonings -choose your own level of heat

One can of stewed tomatoes or chili ready tomatoes

One can of tomato soup (undiluted)

46 oz of tomato juice

Brown hamburger with onion and celery – mix in seasoning.

Add can of beans and can of tomatoes – mix in well.

Add can of tomato soup (undiluted) to thick the mixture

Add 46 ounces of tomato juice

Bring to boil and simmer slowly to blend flavors.

Long Live the Queen of Hot Stuff

  1. I'm not a chili eater, but my daughter Audrey makes it all the time. I think she even got a ribbon at a county fair for her chili. I will definitely have her try your recipe. It sounds good. Who knows, maybe I'll even try it. Thanks. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
