I'm not sure if it's Black Friday causing the problem or not, but it's as good an excuse as any so I'll go with it.
The internet connection is horribly slow today and I am having trouble accessing the email to get the images others have sent and I seem to have forgotten all about doing my own as well, so Photoshop Friday is pushed back to tomorrow.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Our RV Park put out a fabulous spread for $10 and everything tasted better than ever...possibly because I was not in the kitchen helping.
Left Brain and I have so much to be thankful for and we find it sad that the one day a year set aside to show gratitude is hastily shoved between the football games and people rushing through their meal to run out to shop. And then getting up at the crack of dawn to push and shove their way through the crowds for the honor of spending yet more money on more stuff.
Maybe it's being older, maybe it's living this RV lifestyle, but we have everything we need or want so there's no urgency to run out and compete with frenzied shoppers.
We've just been laying low here and I spent my Black Friday by doing laundry, catching up on some cleaning and baking some oatmeal raisin cookies.
Now I'll get busy on my Photoshop Friday challenge for tomorrow!
Long Live the Queen of Procrastination...or is it just plain memory loss?
Well, I prefer memory loss over procrastination because I can't really control my memory, so it serves as a reasibable excuse. However, having often been guilty of procrastination, I can appreciate it when I see others doing it.
ReplyDeleteAs for Black Friday ... I used to be a shopper ... loved to buy Christmas gifts for family and friends, but I never loved the crowds and the pushing and shoving that happens on any sale day. It really isn't worth it ... these are material things, not anything that can be spiritually or emotionally gratifying ... What the heck? I spent today at home as I have every BLACK FRIDAY ... I think it was aptly named. Wouldn't be caught dead out there today and will probably limit all of my shopping days ... Now spending money on the internet, that's easy ... a little too easy, but surely a better way to shop when you get to be my age. So I agree we all have much to be thankful for and we would do ourselves a favor by recognizing it on a daily basis instead of cramming it into a 5000 calorie meal and an expensive bottle of Tums. I look forward to your PSFriday even on a Saturday, Queen of Excellent Excuses ...

I don't do the photo/art memes, but I really enjoy yours! I look forward to it whenever you do it. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree that Thanksgiving and Black Friday are not days I wish to be out there shopping with the maddening crowds. I'd rather spend my Thanksgiving with my family and friends, enjoying a leisurely day. As for the shopping, I do very well on the internet. All the Black Friday sales were waiting for me in my emails. All it took was a click to do my shopping, should I want to. Unfortunately, I did not. Instead, I enjoyed another leisurely day, and did a bit of wrapping. I enjoy your Photoshop Friday on anyday you have it. Have a fabulously evening, hugs, Edna B.
