Chair covers

Although I love the comfort of the office chairs, they look so much like, well...office chairs.

So, off to JoAnne Fabrics I went to pick up some quilted fabric to remedy this situation.  There was no plan or pattern in mind, I prefer to make this stuff up as we go along.

I wanted mine to have a skirt so the cats can hide on each other when they play at night, plus I thought it just look nice.  It took a couple of tries to get the length right so I wasn't rolling over my hem, but now it works.

As you can see, Gracie was a big help in creating these chair covers.

And she certainly likes sleeping on the soft quilted fabric.

Left Brain's chair has arms on it, so my version wouldn't work...nor would it look masculine enough.  So his has a more manly tailored look to it,but in the same fabric to coordinate nicely.

Now I think I need a new table runner to bring the look together.  Maybe a new toaster oven cover in this fabric would nice.  Or perhaps new table covers for the recliners...oh the possibilities are endless!

  1. i like the non-skirted one. i don't wear dresses, myself, so i'd not want my chair to wear one. :)

  2. I was just thinking of you yesterday while visiting the Denver Art Museum.... they have a 'textile' exhibit featuring quilts but more interesting were the sewing tools over the centuries. Al and I both found it extremely interesting. Good work on the chair covers :-)
