One of our favorite places to visit while in central Florida was The Villages. This is the deluxe playground for seniors.
The most common mode of transportation is via golf cart....and I don't mean just any old golf cart. These are all tricked out and personalized to many degrees.
The Rialto Theatre is one of our favorites to visit and it sits on the downtown square of Spanish Springs.
There is a church across the street from it which is lovely.
They have a large pool area with shooting fountains that is nice to look at.
Long Live the Village Idiot....I mean Queen
Oh, I just LOVE these carts! Make mine orange please. Or lime, Or garnet ret. Where in Central Florida is the Villages? I don't think we ever went there. It looks so charming. Let me know if your package ever arrived. It's the only one that hasn't been delivered so far. Now I'm off to do my laundry. How fun! You have a wonderful day. Hugs, Edna B.
ReplyDeleteWell, somebody has too miuch money to spend. Some of those carts are hilarious. Are we still doing the "keeping up with the Joneses" rountine. I know which one is your favorite ... had a big "G: on it :) My parents lived in Florida at Sun City Center ... they drove an ordinary golf cart and my kids loved it. Boy, times have changed. I wonder if I went back to Sun City Center if it would be loaded with elaborate carts now ... or maybe it is still middle class.
ReplyDeleteI love the Spanish architecture and that is a beautiful church. As many times as we were in Florida, we never went to the Viliages. Looks like a great place to visit. Any good restaurants? I'm always ready for a good meal, especially if somebody else cooked it. Well, Queen Jester, you have a good weekend. I don't have to tell you to be careful because you are in the land of the Sun ... we are slip sliding with our first ice storm, ugh! Not good for Old Poops ... Be well, Oh Queen who can "bearly" contain herself:)
