Florida tacky

Florida is a state like no other when it comes to tackiness, although George came pretty close...but the flowers are huge and beautiful.

We arrived in Saint Augustine and spent a couple of days as we wind down our road trip before landing for a month at a time.  I can't wait to tear everything out of the car and get it cleaned up and organized again.

These are our neighbors across the street in this little RV park.

When in Florida, apparently more is always better.

But as I walked around the park snapping photos I did get to meet the lady who created this sweet little table cover for her outside tables.

She was kind enough to show me how it was constructed and what materials she used.

I really like this as it would keep things underneath dry and clean and out of sight.  Oh the crap I could hide under here!  I'm thinking of making some fabric style boxes out of old tarps to make sure the bottoms of things stay clean and dry as well since I don't want to haul and store plastic boxes.

I feel another trip to a fabric shop coming up soon.

  1. You certainly can pick up decorating tips along the road. Everyone has their own sense of style, making it interesting and often entertaining. To each their own. I do like your style, though.

  2. I don't understand your aversion to plastic boxes -- I have evolved from 3-ring binders to plastic boxes. One for meds, one for mini-office, one for Sudoku, one for my personal office, one for RJ's personal office file, one for , well you get the idea. They pack up neatly, and properly labeled make my nomadic lifestyle so much easier. Ok, I'm a bit more nomadic than you since you travel with your home, but...... Really, my feelings aren't hurt that you bam blasted my organizational lifestyle. Really, I'm okay................

    1. Feat not! I use lots of plastic boxes for things that stay consistent. But for under the table it's odd shaped items that wouldn't normally be stored in a box...but need protection from the dirt and mud of the ground under them. I would never blast your organization lifestyle...I've copied too much of it for my own.

  3. We were just in SA last week and stayed at North Beach Campground.A little pricey, but very nice. The back side is on the river and the front side is across from the beach. Ate at Aunt Kate's which is on the river side. Great seafood. We visited my son and his family there. They own a veterinary hospital in SA. Murabella Animal Hospital. We love visiting SA.
