A Clever Idea

Sometimes I almost scare myself with such clever ideas and wonder why I never thought of it before.

Case in point:  I get tired of trying to contain the extension cord that is in constant use in our RV since there are very few places to plug in.

I've often used old socks or mismatched socks to cushion wine glasses and light bulbs during travel.  But just because they are soft and stretchy doesn't mean their only purpose is to be used for packing breakable items for the road.

I had one odd ankle sock, which I don't like anyway because they seem to ride down in my shoes and irritate the back of my foot.

But it was perfect for corralling that long snaky extension cord.

I can't hardly wait to loose another sock.

  1. Well I like the sock ... too bad it slips down in your shoe, it has to be cool looking with jeans :) Of course making good use of it as a cord container is clever ... as you are always clever, I am not surprised. So what is this talk of buying ... is the canned ham actually going to settle down to one or two locals? I must admit you probably have seen all there is to see in these United States ... there is always Canada and Mexico if you get the itch again. Sorry I have been remiss about following ... everyone actually. I do read blogs but don't seem to have the time (or maybe it is the energy) to comment. I am always glad to get caught up on an old friend though ... when are you coming through here again? I like your garden idea ... but a boat sitting in my yard would take up all of Izzi's running room. We now have skunks in the neighborhood and that has limited Izzi's night time prowling ... they got her once and never again if I have anything to do with it. Make sure when you settle you don't have skunks ... yes, I know they are cute and if only they didn't spray, I would love having them around ... BUT :( Well enough of my ramblings. Good to see you are doing well Queen of Dreaming with a plan ... you're one of the few people I know who have actually taken a dream to fruition. Congrats, my friend. I hope you find the perfect spot :)

    1. Good to hear from you. I know how it is. I feel like I'm seldom ever posting a blog much less reading them. Combination of poor internet and being too tired to care. I'll be so glad when the kids are moved in and we head south for the winter. I need a get away from my "summer vacation". I don't know when I'd ever be headed your way again, since we plan to stop full-timing in the RV and settle in a MN and AZ home setting soon. I'll watch out for the skunks in MN and the scorpions in AZ.

  2. Your creativity never ceases to amaze me. I never would have thought to use an old sock for such a purpose. But what a great idea!! Can't wait to see what the next "lost sock" will be used for. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
