New Phones for Left Brain and the Queen

The day started with just going out to have breakfast and pick up a couple of groceries.  And then Left Brain suggested stopping at the Sprint Store to ask some questions about our plan, possibly new phones, etc.  This seemed a great time to ask why my battery drains so quickly as well.

We left the store much later with two brand new Samsung 6 phones in our hands.  They had a good deal going on for us and we altered our plan to reduce the monthly charge by almost half.

It's a different world now where they encourage you to lease the phones for the two year period instead of purchasing outright.  It actually cost much more to buy the phones, so we went with the leasing plan.

Then the deal got sweeter when she asked if we belonged to any clubs that might offer a discount on the monthly billing.  I jokingly said everything we belong to revolves around the RV lifestyle.  Needless to say, I was shocked to find out our Passport America membership gives us 19% off the bill.  Who'd a thunk?

Nothing like coming home with two brand new phones AND a lower bill.  Life is good.  Now we just have to learn how to operate these things.

The best part is I forgot to plug my phone in last night and I'm still at 69%....unheard of with the old one.

Long Live the Queen

  1. I'm probably getting a new phone this year - interesting that leasing is cheaper than buying. I'll have to look into that. Think I'll stay with an iphone, though. I like having my tablet and phone exactly alike - don't have to think as much about where things are, etc. LOL

  2. We used to have Sprint, but coverage was very bad, with Bill trucking. He had dropped calls, we had no service in many areas, bad service. We changed to AT&T and are much happier with service. We do not have dropped calls or service issues, no matter where he is. I have a Samsung 6 and he has a Samsung Note. I love the Samsung phones and have had a few of them. Have fun!

  3. I walked off with one of my Dad's chargers. Thank heavens my brother has an extra universal one he can lend him in the meanwhile! Phone service certain has changed so much in the last 10 years.

  4. Have fun with your new phones. I have the Samsung 5. I'd have updated to the 6, but I haven't finished paying for the 5 yet. In a few more months it will be all mine and then I can update. I hadn't heard of leasing the phones. That sounds interesting.

Today we may have finally broken the wicked cold spell. At least I hope we have.

By the way, your phone has a program on it "SideSync" that lets you take phone calls on your tablet (at least on a Samsung tablet). It also takes fabulous photos.

Now I'm off to get a few things done around here. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
