The Chattanooga Choo Choo

It isn't a complete stop in Chattanooga until you've visited the train, so off we went.

The park area surrounding the train cars was nicely landscaped with lots of gazebos, fountains and gardens.  The Pullman cars are rented out as hotel rooms so we weren't able to see any of them...bummer.

The inside of the station was lovely, but other than this there wasn't much to see.

So, we headed across the street to the Terminal for our lunch

Left Brain couldn't decide which of their hand crafted beer to try, so opted for the sampler of six smaller glasses. Why pick one when you can have them all?  That's a happy man right there!

My mushroom soup and bread were divine and I had to refrain the licking the bowl when I finished.

Long Live the Queen of the Choo Choo

  1. Well, now, that was fun, wasn't it? It makes me think of the old joke about "the cat who chewed your new shoes". *wink*

  2. I wish I had known that Pete was up for a pint or two. We could have gone to Heaven and Ale, just down the street from the quilt shop. Thirty taps of great craft beer.

    1. Maybe next time we meet. He's a Wisconsin boy, so likes his beer.

  3. I forgot to tell you. If you like Little Debbie Snacks the plant is here in Ooltewah and the real Little Debbie who is no longer "little" lives right down the road from us). The LD oulet store is close to the quilt shop. When we take a walk down our local Greenway here the Little Debbie plant is at the end and as you get near you can smell chocolate baking. YUM, YUM
Also, Big River Grill also has the 6 sampler beers to try.

  5. The train park looks like a fun place. Might even be worth spending a night in one of the cars. I love that photo of LB with all his beer samples. He definitely looks very happy!!! Have a wonderful stay in Chattanooga. Hugs, Edna B.
