We're still here

It's been a while since I've posted, so I'll try to get caught up before the next flurry of activity hits.

We've been able to attend a lot of soccer and volleyball games during our stay here this fall.  These young ladies are becoming ferocious athletes...I'm so proud of them.

Let's see....the kids closed on their house and have been living with a friend of theirs who took in this homeless family of four and a large dog for the three weeks between homes.

During that time, Ted's brother and his family also moved from South Dakota to the same neighborhood, so now the cousins will be nice and close and they are all excited about that.

We finally closed on our land in Otsego MN and officially own a small hunk of land with trees and creeping charlie.  Next spring will be our busy time as we position our trailer on the land and begin with adding a screen room and driveway...and then the gardens.  I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to "putting down roots".

I developed an inner ear infection and discovered the Minute Clinic located within Target. A fabulous doctor there treated me and after a couple of days being on antibiotics I'm feeling great again.

The YMCA gym was closed for about a week due to other activities, so pickleball was put on hold for a long time...never good for me.  But we're back again and playing, so all is well.

During my hiatus from playing I busied myself with trying to finish up a bunch of UFOs.  To non-quilting people, that means "Unfinished Objects", otherwise known as quilts you started and then set down to start a different one.  It's a widely known phenomena and there is no cure I'm aware of.

I've also started packing up everything that we want to leave at the kids house over the winter for our trailer next spring.  It's amazing how many things fall into that category.  It's a good thing they have that extra garage in the back!

We watched the first Packer game at a sports bar with our cousins Joel and Anne, which made it even more enjoyable.  There's nothing like having a room full of crazed people dressed in green and gold all screaming at the TV at once.

Our most recent labor has been helping the kids paint some bedrooms in the new house and getting things cleaned and ready for the movers who delivered their belongings last Friday.

I'm hoping this week is a bit calmer and I can resume my regular postings again.

Long Live the Queen
