There are a series of covered bridges in the area, and since the weather was nice we went in search of the one nearest to us.
When cars went over it the wooden boards all shook and rattled and made quite a noise.

It was fun to see some of these unusual landmarks that seem to be disappearing all too quickly from our landscape.
Long Live the Queen
they're so quaint. none in this area, that i know of.
ReplyDeleteWas that in Cottage Grove ?
ReplyDeleteSo one question. Why covered.
ReplyDeleteI always look for these in Amish country. I see them there, but have only captured one. I saw one in MO last fall, too. They are lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! I think they add such charm to to the bridge, but alas, we have none in our area. (at least that I know of) But I do remember them from when I was a little girl. Maybe from a trip up through Vermont or Maine. Ah well, you have a wonderful day. May you find many more covered bridges. Hugs, Edna B.
