Left Brain has hot blood pumping through his veins and seldom ever uses more than the sheet or at the most a blanket. This means I have mounds of comforter all over me, the bed and the floor. It's a mess.
I was going to stick it in the Goodwill donation, but then had an idea. Left Brain is always a bit fearful when I get "that look" and announce that I have an idea.
The plan is to cut the comforter in half. This way it can lay across the bottom of the bed, making it appear the bed is made since that's all you can see. At night, I can rotate it to cover must my side and not have to wrestle with all the extra bulk.
Only the bottom half of the bed is visible from the other room |
The other half will be used to create some sort of cushy cat bed on the dashboard, providing a more level environment for the cats. The poor little things have to deal with the slope all the time and are beginning to feel like mountain goats. Well, actually it doesn't seem to bother them at all, but it bothers me.
I'm not sure what the insides are like, so it will be exciting when I go to open it up and do exploratory surgery.
Wish me luck.

I guess this is all about bedside manner... Very ingenious.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about the adventure that will result from this idea. LOL
ReplyDeleteComfort is what sleep is all about
ReplyDeleteGive this women a pair of scissors and she will accomplish wonders. Let me think if I need anything cut up for the sake of the cats and the man of the house .... hmmmm. Nothing comes to mind. It is your imagination that either gets you in trouble or makes you a creative genius. I am looking forward to another shot of the foot of the bed with just half a comforter on it ... and then the window in the front, what a great idea :) I am waiting for you to pass through here again ... I will be saving up my projects. Have fun Queen of handy ...

Haha. I love the idea of covering only the bottom half of the bed. It really does look good in the photo. And I'll bet George and Gracie are going to love their new comforter. I don't like a lot of bulk covering me when I am trying to sleep so I stay away from most comforters. They are beautiful though. I have a twin size electric flannel blanket that is lightweight but plenty warm without having to plug it in. I think I only plugged it in the first night I used it. For the summer, I have a lightweight cotton blanket.
ReplyDeleteI'll be waiting to see photos of the kitties' new blanket. You have a fabulous day, hugs, Edna B.
That sounds like quite a job, but if anyone can do it, you can. You never cease to amaze me. My inner thermostat is always askew. I am either too warm or too cold. George & Gracie are blessed to have a creative Mom. I still need to get you to make me a book cover that I can used with my trade paperbacks. Maybe when you have time this Winter? Hug.
